Angel Di Maria to miss Barcelona clash after picking up new injury - report

The Argentina international has sustained yet another knock in training, meaning he is now unlikely to feature in Wednesday's match against the Catalans at the Santiago Bernabeu

Real Madrid have reportedly received some disturbing news from the treatment table as winger Angel Di Maria is said to have picked up a fresh injury, and is now set to miss the first leg of the Copa del Rey quarter-final against Barcelona on Wednesday.

The 23-year-old has sat out his side's past few matches due to a thigh problem, but resumed regular training again last week.

Di Maria was widely expected to make his comeback in the home game against Barca, but Marca reports that he has suffered another knock and will have to watch from the stands, while he is also doubtful for the return clash next Wednesday at Camp Nou.

"Di Maria is not at the level we expected," Mourinho told reporters at his pre-match press conference on Tuesday.

Nevertheless, the Portuguese coach has called up the Argentine winger for tomorrow's clash.
