The striker has tallied 23 goals, which would have earned him the Pichichi Trophy in 26 previous editions of the championship
Cristiano Ronaldo has made history in La Liga again by becoming the all-time top scorer in the first leg of the championship. He won the Pichichi Trophy with a record 41 strikes last season and is well on his way to breaking that record this year thanks to the 23 goals he tallied in the fitrst half of the competition this year, improving on the 22 banked by him last season and by Barcelona's Cesar in the 1950/51 campaign. These amazing numbers would have earned him the Pichichi in 26 previous editions of La Liga.
Ronaldo's goal scoring exploits are truly impressive. Twelve of his 23 strikes were tallied at the Bernabeu and 11 on the road. This shows he is capable of scoring at any venue and against any opponent.
No other Real Madrid player has scored 23 goals in the first 19 games of La Liga. Puskas tallied 22 in the 1960/61 season and Ronaldo equalled that record in the 2010/11 campaign. Hugo Sanchez tallied 20 in the 1989/90 edition of the championship.
